Mid-Year Review
As we are already over halfway through 2026 we wanted to take a moment to reflect on what we have accomplished to date, and celebrate your and our successes.
Events: As an organization we hosted over 15 events including several electric vehicle ride and drives and showcases. We led a field trip to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort to discuss their renewable diesel use, test drive their electric snowmobiles and to check-out Prinoth’s all-electric snowcat. We organized and hosted an electric school bus workshop, hosted our monthly Renewable Diesel Working group meetings and Montana and Teton County EV owner’s group gatherings.
How we’ve spent some of our time: This past spring we spent a lot of time supporting fair electric vehicle charging station taxation at the state level in Wyoming. The bill, Removing Triple Taxation for Resident EV Drivers, the legislature passed was better than we expected and a huge win for Wyoming. Thank you to Representative Mike Yin for introducing this bill, and thank you to our board member and longtime stakeholder, Patrick Lawson for providing testimony. Thank you to the team at the Wyoming Outdoor Council who we met with regularly to strategize outreach and to all of you who also followed along, testified and supported this bill.
We also completed an Electric Vehicle and Infrastructure Roadmapfor the Northern Arapaho Tribe. They were a joy to work with, and we can’t wait to see and further support the implementation of this plan over the next few years.
We supported 7 first responders attending the EV First Responder training with scholarship funding through the Charge West program, we have been a partner on for several years.
Impact of Select Programs:
EV Experience: We have had 54 different borrowers over the course of the last year for our EV Experience program. Of those who have borrowed, at the end of the borrow, 30% of participants responded they are very likley to pruchase an electric vehicle for their next vehicle whereas only 15% of respondants were very likely prior to their participation. Additionaly, the truck has supported 10 unique community events, such as providing power for the sound system at Old Bill’s Fun Run, powering a Teton Repair Cafe in Driggs, Idaho and particiating in the Town of Jackson’s 4th of July parade.
Collective Impact of Your Actions: Each year we reach out to you all to gather alternative fuel, vehicle and sustainable transportation annual usage. Over the past three years, the collective work of the region, has more than exceded the Department of Energy’s Clean Cities and Communities goal for each coalition to accomplish, 15% reduction, year over year, of greenhouse gas emissions. We reached our current strategic plan’s 2026 goal in 2025!
New vehicles, fuels and stations
This is not an exhaustive list, but we want to give a shout out to the Town of Jackson and Teton County who recently started to use renewable diesel in their operations. Teton County Parks and Recreation just installed a Level 2 station to support their use of an electric truck, the Community Foundation of Jackson Hole installed a Level 2 station to offer workplace charging to their employees, Happy Trash Compost deployed a Chevy Silverado EV and Big Sky Resort has added Rivian vehicles into their operations.
What to expect the remainder of this year?
We’ll continue to offer our traditional programming, including the EV Experience, Level 2 Rebate Program, Monthly RD Working Group and this summer you can find us at farmer’s markets, parades and a few pop-up outreach activities.
Additionally, we’re already gearing up for our fall Stakeholder Summit, stay tuned for more details. The event will be in Jackson this year (last year we were in Driggs, ID and Helena, MT the summit before that) and we’ll have a focus on mobility. Please send any topic and speaker ideas my way, Alicia@ytcleancities.org.
We plan to facilitate fleet manager roundtable discussions, one-on-one fleet consultations (we currently have space for 2 fleets, reach out!), offer more mobility and transit related programming and offer an EV mechanic and first responder training.
